What is love...

Got this through an email from a friend....I hope some of what was said here will make you smile.I sure did : )

Touching words from the mouths of kids. What does 'Love' mean? A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds. The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.'Rebecca - age 8

'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.'Billy - age 4

'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.'Karl - age 5

'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.'Chrissie - age 6

'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.'Terri - age 4

'Love is when my mummy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.'Danny - age 7

'Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.My Mummy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss' Emily - age 8

'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,'Nikka - age 6

'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.'Noelle - age 7

'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.'Tommy - age 6

'My mummy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.'Clare - age 6

'Love is when Mummy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.'Elaine - age 5

'Love is when Mummy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.'Chris - age 7

'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.'Lauren - age 4

'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.' (what an image)Karen - age 7

'Love is when Mummy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.'Mark - age 6

'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.'Jessica - age 8

And the final one - Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbour, the little boy said,'Nothing, I just helped him cry'

Fun weekend

I was soooooooo looking forward to every weekend.Time to get my itchy butt out of the house and zoom in the car with hubby and kids. After doing a bit of 'research',I had a few places in mind that I wanted to go...places that we have yet to explore with our young ones.

So on Saturday,I coaxed hubby to check out some cool furniture for the children.I had requested for a catalogue and I fell in love with what they are selling the moment my eyes saw it.True enough,it looks great in real life as it does in the catalogue.Hubby likes it too (though not as much as I do!).Our little prince loved it as well we noticed. The only thing we are considering now is,of course, the price that comes with it....and also,is it truly worth paying for.I don't think we would be getting it so soon though (if we are,in the first place...*grin*) coz our son has not reached the stage whereby he could sleep on his own AND in his own room.Meantime, let me get the calculator and find out the costs, just in case.... ; )

Since another food outlet has recently received its 'halal' cert,we decided to go there for brunch!

Darling son,with his kid's meal.

Tucking in!

Sunday......

We had a whale of a time on Sunday.Fidgets-a cool place we have yet to explore...

We had heavy breakfast at Adam Road and then drove there, which was a stone's throw away. The bulding seems dilapidated but don't be fooled, once you stepped into Fidgets,it's like wow,my kids would DEFINITELY love this!A place to jump, climb, slide, roll and do all sorts! The child in me was jumping in excitement.I noticed my son's eyes lit when he saw the huge colourful place-the slides,walls,tubes.....

Indoor fun for kids.

Wall-climbing!

Canopy walk.

Balls! And lots of 'em!

Hubby and I took turns to accompany our boy.I guess when his sister is older,we could leave them both to play on their own while we sip our latte at the cafe ; )

We spent a few hours there until hubby decided it was time out.Exhausted but happy, all three of us (baby girl not included as she sleeps half of the time) were dying for a drink and lunch.I was so glad we managed to go there...I am more glad that my son had such an exciting time. We'll definitely be there again soon!

I've been searching for new spots to spend our weekends as a family so hopefully,we'll get to explore other places next time around. If you do have good ideas, drop me a line, will ya? : )

P.S. More photos in my Multiply!

If I can't go to the mall, bring the mall to me!

Itch...itch...itch....

My itch to shop has started again (not that it ever stopped anyway...*grin).It all started with a single purchase of course....like the river flowing to the sea,my spree didn't stop at one.

Been wanting to get this since I was pregnant.Even after I surveyed my other mummy pals for reviews on various brands,I ended up not buying it as I was sceptical if my second baby would embrace it coz my first didn't.After rambling so much about it,hubby told me to just get it (only then my rambling would stop,right?!hmmm...).

The package arrived today all the way from US....people not included : )

My baby girl's sling! There were so many yummy colours and designs to choose from, but I eventually couldn't help but get the sling in my favourite shade-RED!It's so easy to use, unlike the previous ones I had.Barely five minutes of placing her in the sling, she falls asleep.

She snuggled so comfortably,I was very happy. It's worth every dollar getting it.

It was the start of my online shopping...after a long break of not doing so,I'm back with a vengence.I got some white onesies and infant caps from another US website.I just 'need' to get non-pink items for my girl.A lot of her outfits are in pink (mostly were gifts) and I think I have to put a stop to it...haha.The problem is,as I've noticed, many places sell infant clothes only in two colours, either in blue for boys or pink for girls. What I need now is to have clothes for her in a myriad of colours-white,yellow,blue,green and especially red-which I manage to get a few days ago.Yay!

My spree...

I didn't forget to get something for my boy of course : ) Since his fave jeans is getting a tad too short for him,he got this....His first Levi's.

My online shopping has made a comeback. It's far from over,I tell ya.(I have yet to get something for darling hubby). And now, with my handsfree sling,I could go shopping in the mall too!In any case, please don't make me feel guilty about my shopping in these 'bad times'.....I need to help the economy by spending, right? ; P

Life isn't measured in minutes, but in moments

It has been a while since darling hubby and I managed to sit down to watch a movie....and slow-moving as it was in the beginning, the plot picks up later on.A three hour movie no doubt.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,a story of a man who starts aging backwards.A man, like any of us,who is unable to stop time.A tale about a not-so-ordinary man and the people and places he discovers along the way,the loves he finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.

It's not bad...kind of,you-have-to-hang-in-there-for-a-while kinda movie.I just couldn't stand one thing-the way the elderly Daisy speaks on her deathbed. It was so hard to understand that it pisses me off.Eventually, hubby and I made up what she was trying to say...lol!Anyway,for those patient enough for this kinda movie,go watch it : ) Here's the trailer...

Now,hubby and I are trying to slot in some precious time on our own to catch a few more movies-Seven Pounds,Revolutionary Road,The Reader,Changeling....but knowing he has to work late these days...hmmm.....*shrugs*
