Reflection...
Recently I found out something that I would remember for a long time to come.It was a shock to me.I knew both persons involved, as well as their children, and I was truly saddened by the fact that someone whom I've known for a long time, who seems to be a good wife and mother, could do something that not only ruined her marriage, but her children's lives.
Her affair was found out when her husband accidentally saw her phone message. How long it had been going on, I don't know.Fact of the matter was, it happened.Maybe it's not right for me to comment about her life...but having worked in a place whereby I met with divorced couples and broken families, it pained and angered me that for someone like her, would be mindless enough to do this. Now her children won't speak to her, her own parents refused to acknowledge her.
Is it worth that rush you feel with a new man? Is it worth deceiving your entire family to have those moments with him?Is it worth losing your children and the trust they have in you?
I've seen mothers telling their children not to speak to their fathers, and vice versa.... badmouthing their ex-spouses to their children... telling those kids to choose between parents... I've seen them fight and children crying and pleading for them to stop... seen the children's anguished faces...
Why won't these people resist the temptation? They simply take marriage for granted.
Marriage is a commitment for life.If you,as a parent failed to respect the sanctity of marriage, how would our children?
