First impression was good.Place is clean and tidy, minimal deco with a modern touch. Attentiveness from the service people was excellent.I love the chic, white four sided dishes they use to serve.
The wait for the food was quite long although there was no lunch time crowd (we were there late,at 2.30 or so). When the drinks arrived,we slurped on the icy cold cheng teng!Yumm! It was magnificent since the weather was super hot and this really quenches your thirst. My son couldn't stop having it! *roll eyes* The teh tarik was bleghhh...I have stopped short on the search for delicious teh tarik since we met our 'mama senyum'-no one can beat his teh tarik lahh! Then the soup arrived...piping hot!A scoop of this and I'm hooked! And so were hubby and son...and darling daughter too!Since all of us are feeling under the weather, having this was good.Hubby and I both agreed this was the best soup ever. And dipping that bread into it,ohhh la la.....There were chunks of,I believe, chicken meat-something totally different in mushroom soup!
The two main dishes that we ordered were nothing to die for.Hubby said the chili dog tasted plain.I managed to scoop up some of the meat sauce on top and that tasted ok so if one likes pasta with bolognaise, maybe that'd be nice.Coleslaw and fries are done well.My Classic Combo (it's a portion for 2 persons and I'm sharing ok!Combination of fish, beef and chicken) was not nice. The fish tasted funny while the beef was still too raw for us.The sauce was bad too : (Damage done : $40.70 for 5 items.
Maybe next time,I'll give the fish and chips a try.And the soup, DEFINITELY the soup.I'm keen and so curious to try the carrot and pumpkin soup that the supposed Sharifah Aini likes : p
